Centre for Care team members past and present celebrated two amazing wins in the inaugural University of Sheffield Knowledge Exchange and Impact Awards 2024! The awards highlighted the achievements of staff members who collaborated with external partners in the delivery of innovative and impactful projects.
Many congratulations to Maria Petrillo, Jingwen Zhang and Matt Bennett, who were awarded Outstanding partnership or impact in policy/public services/law, for their work on Understanding Unpaid Care Across the UK with the charities Carers UK and Carers Northern Ireland. Their work has transformed our understanding of contemporary unpaid care, has been cited in parliamentary debates, and continues to support the charities’ work by providing important ‘workhorse’ statistics on the value and numbers of unpaid carers across the UK.
Rachael Black, now Knowledge Exchange Lead for the Faculty of Social Sciences but previously our Impact Specialist, won the award for Excellent support for KE or impact. Rachael is relentless in her pursuit of creating positive societal impact through knowledge exchange, and her proactive approach to working with partners underpinned the first two years of the Centre for Care’s impact activities.
We’re so proud of our winners!
