Bridging Care Gaps: Exploring Impact on Lives and Societies

In June 2024, we held the first QAR-Net Care workshop event in Sheffield.

The workshop commenced with an insightful keynote address by Professor Karen Glaser from King’s College London, focusing on the relationship between the care system and inequalities in care. This was followed by 16 high-quality presentations covering various critical topics, including care needs, unpaid care provision, and its impact on health, financial well-being, and employment. The presenters were from prestigious universities in the UK, Germany, and Australia, bringing diverse perspectives and expertise to the discussions. The event concluded with a collaborative session that summarised the lessons learned from the workshop and explored future collaborative opportunities.
