Text: Report launch event

New report and launch event in collaboration with the Local Government Information Unit (LGIU)

Dr Emily Burn and Professor Catherine Needham have worked with the LGIU to produce a new report entitled ‘What role for local government in Scotland’s National Care Service?

The report will be available to download on Friday 1st December, with an Ask the Expert launch event (hosted by the LGIU and open to LGIU members) taking place on the same day featuring Emily and Catherine on the panel.

Event overview

Join the LGIU for the virtual launch of our latest research, investigating the impact of the proposed centralisation of social care services in Scotland. In collaboration with Centre for Care researchers based at The University of Birmingham’s Health Services Management Centre, their experts have explored the benefits and challenges that the shift to care boards will present for local authorities in terms of realising human rights, supporting people to thrive and ensuring communities flourish and prosper. Through policy analysis and interviews, insights have been gathered from LGIU’s Scottish membership and wider stakeholders to provide a comprehensive view of the potential impact of these reforms. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to gain valuable insights and join the conversation on the future of social care services in Scotland.
