Abstract
Children and young people are living with the prospect of climate change and its worrying implications for the future. This applies to children who are young carers, yet silence reigns on this topic. New connections between scholarship on young carers and the consideration of emerging eco-social approaches to policy have the potential to contribute to addressing these problems. In this article, I argue that the climate crisis is relevant to understanding the social context of children’s role in unpaid care and that they should be represented in the growing eco-social literature by the development of new lines of research.
