Cameron is a psychologist, early career researcher, and LGBTQ writer currently working in the Centre for Care as a Research Associate in Digital Care and Innovation.
Cameron’s current research includes a Priority Setting Partnership in digital care technologies, and a scoping review on social care for older LGBTQ+ people. He is also the creator and facilitator of the Worry Workshop, a workshop combining psychoeducation and activities to help people learn about worry and anxiety and create healthy coping strategies. The Worry Workshop is currently being run with Sheffield City Council for school teachers across Sheffield. He is also conducting an autoethnographic study on neurodiversity and modern Paganism.
Cameron’s prior research was with the Department of Education at The University of Sheffield on the What About Me? project, utilising co-production with the learning disabled community to gather stories and experiences of unpaid care. Prior to that he worked at Sheffield Hallam University on Grow+, a series of workshops designed to help students with learning contracts who were struggling with their course load.
Cameron is a disabled, autistic, trans man and has had the privilege of working predominantly on research projects focusing on the voices of those in marginalised groups, a theme he hopes to continue with in all future research.
