Liz is a carer for her disabled children and a lone parent. Her care experience has sharpened her awareness of how systems marginalise disabled people, and this fuels her commitment to social justice. Her career has spanned multiple areas of social justice, from amplifying service-user voice in perinatal health to a project reuniting refugee families, and most recently to project-managing work on anti-ableist research culture. Her lived experience as a carer drives her to challenge the normative assumptions that shape our workplaces and the wider world.
