This paper draws on findings published in July 2025 from a recent qualitative research study in Sheffield, Borders and Care, undertaken in the Centre for Care at the University of Sheffield. We provide evidence about the likely negative impacts of the UK government’s proposed changes to settlement rights for refugees in the UK.
