What should ‘digital social care’ research focus on? Have your say

Tell us what you think about digital tech and help improve future support

The Digital Care and Innovation theme at the Centre for Care has brought together a group of people with lived experience of care and support, unpaid carers, care workers, and professionals. Together we will form a Priority Setting Partnership (PSP), with the aim of identifying the most important unanswered research questions about digital technologies for living independently at home and in the community.

Our first step is a public survey gathering views from people with personal and professional experience. We would really value your input.

You do not need to be a technology expert to take part. We are hoping to hear from people with different backgrounds and perspectives.

We want to know about your experiences: what works well, what creates difficulties or concerns, and what questions our researchers should focus on.

Why this is important

Digital technologies are increasingly affecting everyday life – from staying in touch with others, accessing support, managing daily routines, or dealing with services.
No one understands these experiences better than the people living them.
Your views can help show what is working well, what is creating risks or concerns, and what needs to change.
The project will produce a Top 10 list of priority research questions about digital technology for living independently.
These priorities can help steer future research funding and encourage research that focuses on the issues people care about most.
It helps make sure future research is relevant, practical and based on real life priorities.

Who can take part?

  • People with lived experience of drawing on care and support
  • Unpaid carers and other (for example family) supporters
  • Care workers and social care professionals
  • People who work for organisations that support or advocate for any of the above groups
